If you could re-do your teacher prep-program what would you like it to include to better prepare you for real world teaching?

Given your experience as a teacher and the development in communication and technology, what do you feel could be added to teacher-preparation programs to make them more holistic/effective?
I am currently working on designing a teacher training workshop on design thinking. Before I get into the details of designing the workshop I wanted to interact with some teachers who have attended teacher training workshops before to understand what worked well and what did not. Please drop me a message if you can help me with this. I would really appreciate hearing from the teachers themselves to help me strengthen this workshop.
Hi Priyanka! The teacher training programmes that happen are more of a formality. I would have appreciated if such training programmes were followed by another gathering may be after a week or fortnight. As by then the teachers would have applied the learning of the training program to real classroom situations. When they gather again they could discuss the problems faced or more clarifications needed for certain strategy. Now we attend a training go back practice for few days the strategies learnt and then again fall back into our comfortable zone of teaching. But if one knew there was going to be one or two follow up meetings one would be more serious towards implementation.
Thank you so much for the response. I will be developing a short questionnaire soon to understand the common problems teachers face during teacher training workshops (similar to the ones you've mentioned). I will send the same to you through personal message. It would be wonderful if you can fill that out for me and also if you have more colleagues please get them on board as well. Would be great to interact as a group.
1. 'Differential evaluation' to suit the varied learning abilities of the children
2. More integrated approach to learning, stress on hands on science
3. Stress on more localized content & context
hi priyanka, It would be great if you could cater to the "Learning Styles" of the Children. Learning styles are basically various approaches or ways of learning. They involve educating methods, particular to an individual, that are presumed to allow that individual to learn best.
It would be more effective if the teacher's could understand the children's style of learning than getting a track of the Teacher's style of making things learn. I think Psychometrics is the best way in which the teacher's can effectively know their children in meeting up their level of understanding which inturn assists them in forming a responsible individuals for future.
